The marriage bond is a legally binding agreement entered into by the bride and groom as a covenant with the Commonwealth of Kentucky that the marriage will occur. The bond may include: number, date, name of husband and wife to be, name of surety, terms of bond, and county clerk attestation. The marriage bond book contains only the marriage bond.
